Two Montreal Impact players entered. Only one came out.
Ignacio Piatti beat out Didier Drogba to collect the AT&T Goal of the Week honors for Week 20, earning 64 percent of the vote for his left-footed blast in the Impact’s 5-1 win over the Philadelphia Union. Piatti already led the league in Goal of the Week wins in 2016, but now has a total of four to push well ahead of second-placed Cyle Larin and the rest of the pack.
Piatti, who had a goal and two assists in that home win vs. Philadelphia, scored in the 86th minute. The veteran midfielder struck when he collected a cross from the left, controlled it, and then smashed a shot into the back of the net to further add to Montreal’s lead.
