Celtic midfielder Lindsay joins Morton on loan

Celtic midfielder Jamie Lindsay has joined Championship side Greenock Morton on a season-long loan until June 2017.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Dumbarton, winning the club’s Young Player of the Year Award, and returned to Celtic Park in the summer.

He was part of Celtic’s first-team squad for their pre-season tour, playing in friendlies against NK Celje and Sturm Graz.

Derek McInnes believes his Aberdeen side can still reach the Europa League play-off round despite having to settle for a 1-1 home draw[1] in Thursday’s first leg against Slovenian side Maribor.

“If we create even a quarter of the chances we did here over in Slovenia, then I will be pleased,” McInnes said.

“I know on another night we would take more of those sort of chances so it is important that we believe the tie is still there for us.

“I still believe we can get through this tie.”
