Aubameyang shows true Dortmund colours
He may have left Dortmund’s tour of China early due to family reasons, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has underlined his long-term commitment to Borussia with some strong statements to German publication Sportbild. Here’s what the 27-year-old said:
We’re as strong as we have been in the past, but I think we have even more potential now – simply because the team is so young and talented. We have the potential to challenge Bayern and we want to make it hard for them again this season.”
[On his future] I’m not finished with Dortmund. I want to be here a good few more years yet – my contract runs until 2020. There’s a lot I want to achieve here and I’m not interested in a transfer right now.”
That’s as unequivocal as you could probably get mid-transfer window. Dortmund fans, it looks like Christmas has come early!

Poulsen withdraws from Olympics
RB Leipzig striker Yussuf Pousen has opted not to represent Denmark at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro next month. The striker “had discussions with club representatives about my sporting ambitions for this season” and both parties have agreed for him to remain in Germany in order to “prepare himself in the best possible way for the new Bundesliga campaign and establish RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga”.
